Researchers believe an experimental cancer drug derived from a poisonous plant can work against novel coronavirus, the Daily Mail reported. 

Thapsigargin should be effective against cocoronavirus and other viruses that cause the common cold, claim researchers at Nottingham University.

The drug, which is being tested as a treatment for prostate cancer, is derived from a deadly plant found in the western Mediterranean that is deadly to cattle and sheep.
